Steyr has officially positioned its all new 6440 Cervus CVT among the tractors competing for the Tractor of the Year 2027 title. Entering one of the industry’s most competitive award programs, the Austrian manufacturer is betting on a combination of high power, continuously variable transmission, precision farming technology, and impressive lifting capability to stand out in the premium agricultural tractor segment.

Powerful six cylinder platform
The Steyr 6440 Cervus CVT is powered by a 6.7 liter FPT Industrial NEF six cylinder engine delivering approximately 440 hp with a peak torque of 1,851 Nm at 1,400 rpm. The engine is designed to provide strong low speed pulling performance while minimizing fuel consumption under heavy loads.
Power is transferred through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), allowing seamless acceleration without traditional gear changes. For operators working with changing field conditions, a CVT offers smoother power delivery, easier speed control, and improved fuel efficiency during transport and PTO operations.
The tractor rides on a 3,190 mm wheelbase, providing stability for heavy implements while maintaining maneuverability for field work.
