Vintage Tractor Show Returns to Thirsk Auction Mart

A major highlight for agricultural heritage fans is set for Sunday, November 16, when the North Yorkshire Group of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club hosts its fifth annual heritage show at Thirsk Farmers’ Auction Mart.

Running from 10 a.m. onwards, the show will bring together a rich collection of vintage tractors and stationary engines spanning more than a century of agricultural engineering. Admission is £6 per adult, while children under 14 can attend for free.

Last year’s event drew 71 tractors ranging from early postwar icons like the Trojan Toracktor to the celebrated Ford Silver Jubilee 7810. Enthusiasts also showcased rare gems such as a Turner Yeoman of England, Lanz Bulldog, Vendeuvre Super BB, and Trantor — representing a diverse cross-section of global tractor manufacturing heritage.

Beyond tractors, the show featured 48 stationary engines, including a 1904 Fairbanks Morse, and a 1947 threshing machine powered all day by a 1960 Nuffield. This year, similar working demonstrations are expected to draw large crowds once again.

Classic and vintage tractors will be displayed under cover, while the engines and threshing machine will operate outside. The entrance hall will feature crafts, scale models, and private collections, with refreshments served by the mart café throughout the day.

Organizers aim to surpass the success of previous years, celebrating the evolution of farm machinery and preserving the legacy of British and international engineering for future generations.
