New Holland’s new T4.120 F Auto Command sets a new benchmark in the specialized tractor segment. Designed for professional fruit growers and vineyard operators, it introduces the brand’s in-house continuously variable transmission (CVT) into a narrow-frame machine for the first time. With a top speed of 50 km/h and ECO mode delivering 40 km/h at just 1,500 rpm, this is a true first in the segment.
Under the hood, the T4.120 F is powered by a Stage V-compliant 3.6-liter FPT Industrial F36 engine producing 120 hp and 518 Nm of torque at 1,300 rpm. The line-up includes four models ranging from 86 to 120 hp. A newly integrated cooling system with an optional reversible fan keeps temperatures in check during heavy operation or dusty conditions — a welcome addition for vineyard and orchard work.

Precision Hydraulics and Adaptive Suspension for Demanding Implements
At the rear, a Closed-Center Load-Sensing (CCLS) hydraulic system delivers 115 liters per minute to up to five rear electronic valves and two front spools. The rear linkage can lift 2,520 kg, and the optional front linkage adds 1,450–1,480 kg capacity depending on axle type. Hydraulic front axle suspension comes standard for stability on uneven terrain, and operators can choose mechanical or semi-active cab suspension systems for extra comfort.
The SuperSteer™ front axle option reduces the turning radius from 3.9 m to 3.3 m — ideal for tight vineyard rows. This setup slightly reduces the fuel tank from 104 to 95 liters but offers outstanding maneuverability for row work.
Smart Farming Suite and Operator-First Cab Design
Inside, the T4.120 F brings a scaled-down version of New Holland’s SideWinder™ armrest, complete with multi-function joystick and programmable speed presets. The IntelliView™ 12-inch touchscreen is mounted on a movable rail for maximum ergonomics and visibility.
Connectivity and automation are key themes: the tractor comes with standard telematics and FieldOps mobile integration for data monitoring. Optional IntelliSteer™ guidance, IntelliTurn™ automatic headland turning, and Headland Turn Sequence II allow fully automated headland management using GPS triggers. The system is fully ISOBUS-compatible and supports Tractor Implement Management (TIM), letting smart implements automatically adjust tractor parameters based on field conditions.
Another premium feature borrowed from larger New Holland series is the intelligent trailer braking system, which applies trailer brakes automatically when the operator slows the tractor via the transmission — boosting safety during transport on slopes.
Compact Yet Confident — Real-World Performance and Testing
During pre-Agritechnica testing, the Tractor of the Year jury praised the T4’s stability, smooth acceleration, and row-guidance accuracy. Despite its narrow frame — 1.77 m maximum width, adjustable down to 1.5 m — the tractor feels spacious and well-balanced. The CVT’s response is linear and predictable for road and field use alike. Testers noted that the Auto Guidance steering is stiff when disengaging manually, a safety measure that prevents accidental system deactivation.
For vineyard operations, the row guidance system proved precise, holding the tractor centered without damaging crops — a key benefit for high-value produce growers. With its blend of comfort, automation, and compact power, the T4.120 F Auto Command is positioned as one of the most advanced specialty tractors ever offered by New Holland.
