New Holland T7.270 Methane Power tractor

New Holland Opens Orders for T7.270 Methane Power Tractor

New Holland has confirmed that its T7.270 Methane Power tractor is now available to order in Europe, with deliveries starting in spring 2026. First introduced as a concept at Agritechnica 2023, the tractor expands the brand’s alternative fuel range by bringing compressed natural gas (CNG) technology into the higher-horsepower T7 platform.

Methane Power Performance for Large Farms and Contractors

The T7.270 Methane Power is targeted at large arable farms, contractors, and biodigester operators managing heavy haulage fleets. It delivers a maximum output of 270 horsepower and 1,160 Nm of torque from the upgraded 6.7-liter FPT NEF engine. The engine package includes a high-performance turbocharger, methane-specific fuel system, and aftertreatment layout. Service intervals are extended to 750 hours, reducing downtime.

Extended Range with Modular CNG Storage

Thanks to the larger T7 chassis, New Holland engineers increased onboard gas storage capacity. Standard configuration offers 657 liters (117.9 kg) of CNG, while an optional 480-liter (86.2 kg) range extender expands capacity to 1,106 liters (204.1 kg). With the extender installed, operators can expect up to 11 hours of autonomy in transport work. Fast refueling is supported via an NGV2 valve at up to 260 bar, giving refuel times comparable to diesel tractors.

Transmission, Comfort, and Digital Integration

The tractor is equipped with New Holland’s Auto Command™ continuously variable transmission for smooth power delivery, particularly in heavy transport operations above 18 tonnes. Operator comfort is enhanced by the Horizon™ Ultra cab — recognized as the quietest in the industry at just 66 dB. The cab integrates the IntelliView™ 12 display on the SideWinder™ armrest, TIM (tractor implement management) compatibility, and advanced suspension.

Built on the PLM Intelligence platform, the T7.270 Methane Power includes full connectivity features. Machine and field data are automatically synchronized with New Holland’s FieldOps portal, enabling owners to track fleet performance and dealers to provide remote support when authorized.

Closed-Loop Energy for Negative Carbon Farming

In partnership with Bennamann, New Holland enables farmers to capture and refine methane from livestock manure for use as biomethane fuel. This creates a closed-loop energy system that cuts emissions, reduces chemical fertilizer needs, and can even deliver a negative carbon footprint.
