New Holland has expanded its compact tractor portfolio with the introduction of the WORKMASTER 35C and WORKMASTER 40C, two all new models designed to deliver higher comfort, improved maneuverability, and broader attachment capability while maintaining a value focused position in the compact segment. The new tractors represent a clean sheet evolution of the WORKMASTER compact range, targeting property owners, livestock operations, municipalities, and light commercial users.
Operator Platform Design Focused on Comfort and Daily Usability
A major development area for the WORKMASTER 35C and 40C is the redesigned operator platform. New Holland engineers used proprietary modeling tools and North American operator data to optimize control placement, visibility, and long duration comfort.
Key platform features include a semi flat deck with a low transmission tunnel, wide step and threshold access, integrated grab handles on steel fenders, and a standard rubber floor mat. The adjustable vinyl seat and large ergonomic steering wheel are paired with clearly visible instrumentation and color coded control levers, allowing operators to work confidently with minimal fatigue during extended tasks.
The tractors are built in house and feature New Holland’s latest Connective Flow styling, including a sculpted hood profile, updated decals, Dynamic Blue paint, and silver wheels that visually align the compact range with larger flagship tractors such as the T7 series.
Loader and Backhoe Attachments Engineered for Fast Changeover
To expand jobsite versatility, the WORKMASTER 35C and 40C are matched with newly developed tractor specific implements.
The 250LC front loader features a skid steer style quick attach faceplate, allowing compatibility with common attachments such as buckets and grapples. Loader control is managed via an easy reach joystick with simultaneous lift and curl functionality. An optional dealer installed live third function kit enables hydraulic grapple operation, responding to increasing demand for material handling capability in compact tractors.
For excavation work, the 270BC backhoe is available on both models. With a standard 16 inch bucket, the backhoe delivers digging depth up to 87 inches. A redesigned mounting system improves ground clearance and allows attachment and removal without removing the three point hitch arms, reducing changeover time between backhoe work and rear mounted implements. Optional equipment includes a mechanical thumb, rubber street pads, and multiple bucket sizes.
Powertrain and Transmission Choices for Mixed Duty Applications
Both tractors are powered by a 1.9 liter three cylinder diesel engine engineered for balanced torque output and fuel efficiency. Serviceability has been improved through a single piece flip up metal hood, with routine oil checks accessible without lifting the hood. A 12.6 gallon fuel tank supports long operating days, with the fill point conveniently located on the rear fender.
Customers can choose between two transmission options depending on application requirements:
A three range dual pedal hydrostatic transmission with independent forward and reverse pedals for loader and landscaping work.
A 12×12 mechanical transmission with synchronized left hand shuttle designed for ground engaging and draft intensive tasks.
Multiple tire configurations are available, including R1 agricultural, R3 turf, R4 industrial, and the increasingly popular R3+ hybrid tire that balances grass protection, winter traction, and soil performance.
Hydraulics Steering and Rear Hitch Built for Real Workloads
Hydraulic performance is a standout feature of the new WORKMASTER models. A dual pump system separates steering and implement flow, ensuring responsive loader cycle times and smooth steering even under load. A dedicated steering pump and updated front axle geometry reduce turning radius by more than eight inches compared to previous models, improving maneuverability in confined areas.
At the rear, the heavy duty three point hitch offers lift capacity of up to 2,067 pounds, representing a notable increase over earlier WORKMASTER compact tractors. Standard telescopic stabilizers simplify implement hookup, while up to three optional rear hydraulic remotes can be installed for running log splitters and hydraulic driven implements.
Telematics Ready with Extended Warranty Coverage
The WORKMASTER 35C and 40C are factory prepared for telematics integration. With a plug and play dealer installed modem, fleet owners and rental operators can monitor GPS location, speed, fuel level, battery status, and machine usage through New Holland FieldOps, the brand’s data management platform.
Warranty coverage includes 24 months or 750 hours of full machine protection, plus extended powertrain coverage up to 72 months or 1,500 hours, providing additional peace of mind for professional users.
Public Debut at Major U.S. Farm Shows
The WORKMASTER 35C will debut at the World Ag Expo 2026 in Tulare, California, February 10–12. The WORKMASTER 40C will be showcased at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky, February 11–14, booth 6049 in South Wing A.
