HTS II Automation Brings Faster, Safer Headland Turns
New Holland has upgraded its 2026 TE6.120 and TE6.150 Straddle Tractors with the new Headland Turn Sequence II system, a patented automation package designed to simplify end-of-row maneuvers in vineyards. With one switch, operators can command all attached implements at once, reducing repetitive actions and significantly lowering operator fatigue in intensive specialty-crop operations.
HTS II allows users to customize the behavior of each implement, save frequently used sequences and repeat them with high precision at every row end. For vineyards where turning can occur dozens of times per hour, the system is designed to improve safety and overall machine consistency.
Key Advantages of HTS II for Vineyard Operations
HTS II focuses on improving operational rhythm in narrow and steep vineyard layouts. New Holland’s automation coordinates hydraulic, PTO and linkage functions, helping operators maintain accurate timing when lifting, lowering or repositioning implements during tight turns.
The sequence saving mode also reduces setup time when switching blocks or working with different row configurations. Enhanced repeatability ensures uniformity across the field, especially valuable in high-value crops where inconsistency can affect yield and grapevine health.
Performance Overview of the TE6.120 and TE6.150 Straddle Tractors
The TE6 series is engineered specifically for vineyards with steep slopes and narrow terraces. While New Holland has not officially disclosed all technical specs for the 2026 models, the TE6 platform is known for its compact dimensions, low center of gravity and high-visibility cabin tailored to multi-implement vineyard work.
The machines are designed to carry several tools simultaneously, making them ideal for tasks such as canopy management, under-vine cultivation, mulching and spraying. Paired with HTS II, the TE6 series aims to deliver more precise and efficient row-to-row transitions.
