Montra Electric has officially expanded into northern India with the introduction of the ARAI certified E-27, the country’s first fully certified electric tractor in its class. The debut took place at EIMA Agrimach 2025, marking a major strategic step for the company as it strengthens its presence in India’s high-demand agricultural corridor.
E-27 Electric Tractor Targets High Efficiency and Multi-Tasking Performance
Designed as a modern alternative to diesel models, the E-27 focuses on delivering clean, efficient power for core farm operations. It produces 27 hp equivalent output and 90 Nm of torque, supported by a high-efficiency PMSM motor designed for heavy traction work.
The electric system allows smooth operation in plowing, tilling, spraying, and haulage. The tractor is offered with AWD and 2WD configurations, giving farmers flexibility to match terrain and implement requirements. Its 27 kWh lithium-ion battery pack supports extended runtime, while the 21 kW IP67 compliant motor ensures reliability in dusty and wet field environments.
Electrified Drivetrain With Reliable Transmission and PTO Options
To match the expectations of Indian farmers, Montra Electric has equipped the E-27 with a durable mechanical platform.

Lower Operating Costs Aim to Boost Farmer Profitability
One of the E-27’s strongest selling points is its cost efficiency. With no diesel consumption and fewer moving parts, Montra Electric claims farmers can reduce operational expenses by up to 70 percent over five years. Reduced servicing, fewer consumables, and stable electricity costs position the tractor as a viable alternative to conventional diesel models.
Government EV incentives and state-level programs could deliver additional savings, making the E-27 particularly attractive for first-time electric adopters.
Montra Electric Expands Northern India Dealer Network
According to Harish Prasad, CEO of Montra Electric Tractors, the company is rapidly scaling its agricultural division. The northern market, with its strong mechanization demand, is a priority focus area. Montra is currently partnering with new dealers to build sales and service infrastructure across key agricultural states.
The E-27 will initially be available through 17 dealerships across 10 states, priced from INR 10.75 lakh ex-showroom.
