At Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, Hagerty Egg Robotics earned top recognition in the equipment category of the Innovations Award breakfast with their Monarch tractor, a fully electric 70-horsepower machine designed for autonomous operation.
The Monarch combines electrification with automation to address labor shortages and rising operational costs. It delivers a quiet and smooth user experience, distinguishing itself from diesel tractors by the absence of engine noise and traditional pedal feedback. Battery capacity supports between 8 and 14 hours of work, depending on the task, with charging possible through both 220-volt and 110-volt outlets.
Versatility is central to the design. The tractor retains conventional features such as a three-point hitch and full hydraulics, enabling it to perform in dairies, orchards, vineyards, and field operations like planting and cultivation. A unit already in operation near Ottawa is being used for squash production, where performance has been positively received.
Founded around five years ago, Hagerty Egg Robotics has grown its portfolio to 15 robotic machines. The Monarch tractor marks their expansion into larger, more complex agricultural equipment, reinforcing the role of robotics in mainstream farming.
