The Mexico Young Farmers Truck & Tractor Pull will return to Mexico, Missouri, on September 5, 2026, bringing one of the most varied pulling programs on the late-season Midwest calendar to the Audrain County 4-H Center.
The event will feature 11 competition classes drawn from three IHRA Pro Pulling Series divisions: the Hot Shot’s Secret Champions Tour, Hart’s Diesel Silver Series and Sancrest Western Series powered by Champion Seed. Gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m., with pulling beginning at 6 p.m.
General admission is $25, while children age 12 and younger will be admitted free.
Mexico Tractor Pull Classes
The headline attraction from the Champions Tour will be Pro Modified 4WD Trucks, machines that turn what still resembles a recognizable pickup platform into a purpose-built competition vehicle capable of delivering enormous power through all four tires.
Hart’s Diesel Silver Series will contribute the Light Pro Stock Tractor class.
The largest portion of the program comes from the Sancrest Western Series, which is scheduled to bring Sancrest Trailers 95 Limited Pro Stock Tractors, Sancrest Specialized 85 Limited Pro Stock Tractors, 5.0 Pro Stock Tractors, Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Mini Rods, Pro Farm Tractors, Pro Street Diesel Trucks, Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks and Pro Stock 4×4 Trucks.
That mix matters because the Mexico event is not built around several versions of essentially the same tractor.
Fans will move between relatively traditional tractor-based machinery, heavily developed diesel combinations, compact Mini Rods and high-powered four-wheel-drive trucks during the same evening.
Why This Pull Stands Out
What makes Mexico particularly interesting is the range of engineering philosophies gathered onto one track.
Tractor pulling can sometimes be described simply as a horsepower contest, but that misses much of what separates a competitive machine from an unsuccessful one. Engine output is only part of the equation. Weight placement, chassis setup, tire behavior, gearing, traction and the driver’s ability to keep the machine working efficiently as sled resistance increases all become visible during a run.
Mexico provides an unusually good opportunity to compare those approaches.
A Light Limited Super Stock tractor attacks the track differently from a 5.0 Pro Stock machine. A Mini Rod packages extraordinary power into a dramatically smaller chassis. A Pro Modified 4WD truck adds another combination of tire speed, chassis balance and power delivery.
For spectators interested in machinery rather than simply the final distance, watching those classes consecutively can be as interesting as the competition itself.
There is also an important visual component. Modern pulling machines occupy an unusual space between agricultural heritage and purpose-built motorsport. Some tractors retain sheet metal and branding that clearly connect them with familiar farm equipment, yet almost everything underneath may have been optimized specifically for competition.
That contrast is one reason tractor pulling remains distinctive among American motorsports.
Late-Season Pulling in Missouri
The September date also gives the event additional significance.
Mexico appears on the current IHRA pulling calendar alongside major late-summer and early-fall events as the 2026 season moves toward its closing stages. IHRA lists the Mexico Young Farmers Truck & Tractor Pull as a September 5 stop for all three participating series.
The venue also has an established history with professional pulling. The event has hosted national and regional classes for years, and previous editions have played a role in championship battles. In 2025, for example, several Pro Pulling League divisions reached important season-ending or near-season-ending rounds at Mexico.
That history gives the Missouri stop more substance than a one-off exhibition.
About IHRA Pro Pulling Series
The organization behind the professional competition is now operating under the IHRA Pro Pulling Series banner.
The series enters its 21st season in 2026 and describes itself as the world’s largest truck and tractor pulling sanctioning organization, with roughly 300 competition sessions across 20 states. Its structure includes the Champions Tour, Hart’s Diesel Silver Series, Sancrest Western Series, AP1 Insurance Midwest Region and affiliated regional organizations.
