LS Mtron Unveils Koreas First Tractor with Autonomous Obstacle

LS Mtron Unveils Korea’s First Tractor with Autonomous Obstacle Avoidance at Iksan Expo

At the 2025 Iksan Agricultural Machinery Expo in North Jeolla Province, LS Mtron showcased the next frontier of precision agriculture — its autonomous tractor equipped with obstacle avoidance technology. Running from November 4 to 7, the event gathered around 200 exhibitors across 18,000 square meters, highlighting innovations designed to strengthen Korea’s agricultural machinery sector and its export potential.

From Detection to Avoidance: Next-Level Automation

Since commercializing Korea’s first autonomous tractor in 2021, LS Mtron has continuously upgraded its automation capabilities. The latest advancement, introduced publicly for the first time at Iksan, allows the tractor to not only detect obstacles but also calculate detour routes and steer around them automatically. This eliminates the need for manual intervention, enabling continuous operation with higher efficiency and safety. Farmers benefit from reduced fatigue and improved productivity—key steps toward fully unmanned farming.

MT9 Powershuttle: Big Power, Smart Value

Alongside the autonomy demo, LS Mtron revealed the new MT9 Powershuttle, the most powerful tractor in Korea’s lineup. Designed for farmers seeking a balance between strength and affordability, this model delivers large-tractor performance with a price tag accessible to mid-scale operations.
