At its Rocester headquarters this autumn, JCB hosted a major press and dealer event to mark eight decades of innovation. What began in 1945 with a single hydraulic tipping trailer has evolved into a global force in construction and agriculture — and this year’s showcase reinforced that legacy.
Managing Director John Smith reflected on current market turbulence but underscored the brand’s unwavering commitment to innovation. “Even in challenging cycles, we invest in product leadership,” he said, highlighting how research and design remain central to JCB’s long-term vision.
Fastrac 6000. Compact Muscle for the Modern Contractor
A key announcement was the Fastrac 6000 Series, a project that bridges the gap between the company’s 4000 and 8000 lines. Available as the 6260 (284 hp) and 6300 (335 hp), these tractors pack impressive torque — up to 1,400 Nm — from a 6.7-liter FPT NEF six-cylinder engine.
The ZF Eccom 3.1 CVT transmission allows continuous power delivery up to 66 km/h, while the new chassis provides an 11-ton rear lift and an optional 5-ton front linkage. The 6000 also debuts JCB’s first integrated central tire inflation system (CTIS), enabling on-the-go tire pressure adjustments to boost traction and reduce soil compaction.

Refined Ride and Precision Handling
Operators will notice major comfort upgrades. The hydro-pneumatic suspension and four-wheel steering system enhance ride stability both on road and in the field. A new progressive steering lockout automatically transitions from agile maneuvering to firm control at higher speeds.
Braking has also been re-engineered. Outboard single-caliper discs replace the older twin-caliper design, reducing noise and service time to just three hours. With ABS and brake wear sensors now standard, safety is clearly a top priority.
Loadall Expansion Adds Strength and Smart Assistance
JCB also expanded its Loadall telehandler range with two new models: the 546-70 and 555-70. Both share a 7-meter lift height but boost capacity to 4.6 and 5.5 tonnes respectively. Powered by 130–173 hp DieselMAX engines, the AGRI Pro variants reach 50 km/h and include DualTech VT transmissions for optimal control and fuel efficiency.
Advanced features like Sway Control for chassis leveling and air trailer brakes further tailor these handlers for professional farm and contractor use.
IntelliAssist and IntelliWeigh Bring Automation to Daily Tasks
The new Loadalls also debut IntelliAssist and IntelliWeigh, automation systems that simplify repetitive tasks and enhance precision.
- IntelliAssist lets operators program boom movements, such as return-to-dig and return-to-load.
- IntelliWeigh integrates a smart weighing system based on hydraulic pressure and boom angle, tracking load data through JCB LiveLink for accurate record-keeping.
These technologies help reduce operator fatigue, improve consistency, and maximize throughput — especially for mixed fleets or multi-operator environments.
