Hymach Introduces Compact Herbhy 25 Radio Controlled Tool Carrier for Solar Farms and Orchards

Italian vegetation management equipment manufacturer Hymach is highlighting its smallest remote controlled tool carrier, the Herbhy QB25, a compact tracked machine designed for mowing and vegetation control in environments where larger equipment struggles to operate efficiently.

The machine targets a growing segment of the vegetation management market that includes solar parks, vineyards, orchards, embankments, and other confined working environments where low machine height, precise maneuverability, and operator safety have become increasingly important.

Built for Narrow Agricultural and Energy Applications

One of the key design priorities behind the Herbhy 25 is compactness. The machine features a 1,000 mm track width, allowing it to operate between vineyard rows and orchard plantings while also fitting beneath many photovoltaic panel installations. According to Hymach, the platform was specifically developed for locations where traditional tractors or larger remote controlled mowers can face access limitations.

The unit is equipped with a 25 HP Honda gasoline engine and can be paired with the TSUL 100 TL mulching head, which uses specialized grass cutting blades designed to produce a clean finish and finely shredded vegetation residue. The mulching system aims to reduce the need for secondary cleanup passes while improving decomposition of plant material.

Lightweight Design Improves Transport Efficiency

A major advantage of the Herbhy 25 is its transportability. Hymach states that the machine weighs approximately 570 kg without attachments, making it significantly easier to move between job sites compared to larger remote controlled slope mowers. The compact dimensions also allow transportation using smaller trailers and service vehicles, helping contractors reduce logistics costs.

Available specifications indicate a maximum travel speed of 6 km/h, a 17 liter fuel tank, 135 mm ground clearance, and a tracked undercarriage supported by eight rollers. The machine uses a radio control system operating on a 2.4 GHz frequency with a working range of up to approximately 100 meters depending on conditions.

Designed for Slopes and Difficult Terrain

Although the Herbhy 25 is the smallest model in the range, it is still intended for demanding terrain. Published specifications indicate continuous operation capability on steep slopes, with some distributors citing suitability for gradients approaching 70 degrees depending on operating conditions and equipment configuration. The tracked design, low center of gravity, and anti track derailment systems are central to its stability strategy.

This reflects a broader trend across the European vegetation maintenance sector where municipalities, solar farm operators, and agricultural businesses are increasingly adopting remote controlled carriers to improve operator safety on hazardous terrain. Instead of placing workers directly on steep slopes or beneath solar infrastructure, operators can manage mowing operations from a safe distance while maintaining productivity.

Multipurpose Platform Expands Machine Utilization

Beyond mowing applications, Hymach positions the Herbhy platform as a multipurpose tool carrier capable of supporting numerous attachments. Available equipment across the Herbhy range includes sweepers, snow blades, snow blowers, rotary cutters, loader buckets, haymaking equipment, and specialized orchard and vineyard tools. This versatility allows owners to spread machine utilization across multiple seasons rather than limiting use to vegetation management alone.

From a market perspective, compact remote controlled carriers like the Herbhy 25 are becoming increasingly relevant as solar installations continue expanding across agricultural regions. Traditional mowing equipment often struggles beneath low mounted solar panels, creating demand for smaller autonomous and remote operated solutions that can safely maintain vegetation without damaging infrastructure.

About Hymach

Hymach was founded in Italy in 1983 and specializes in vegetation management equipment, remote controlled tool carriers, articulated arm mowers, and custom maintenance machinery. The company has more than 40 years of experience in the sector and manufactures its equipment in Stienta, Italy. Today, the Herbhy lineup includes multiple models ranging from the compact QB25 up to larger diesel powered professional carriers designed for heavy duty municipal, forestry, and infrastructure maintenance applications.
