Flannery Plant Hire is preparing one of the biggest fleet renewal auctions seen in the UK in recent years, following a £107 million investment in new machinery during 2025.
To make space for the upgraded fleet, the company is releasing a large number of late-model machines, including John Deere tractors, through a major on-site auction managed by Euro Auctions Group.
The sale will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at Flannery’s depot in Irlam, Manchester, and is expected to attract buyers from agriculture, construction, forestry, and plant hire sectors.
John Deere Tractors Headline Flannery Fleet Renewal Sale
Among the most interesting lots for agricultural buyers is a strong selection of late-model John Deere tractors, offered alongside a wide range of heavy construction equipment. These tractors come from a professional hire fleet, meaning they were maintained to strict service schedules and configured for demanding work environments.
For farmers, contractors, and fleet owners, this is a chance to buy:
- Modern John Deere tractors at auction pricing.
- Machines with regular maintenance history.
- Tractors built for long duty cycles, not light hobby use.
£448m Invested Over Four Years Drives Massive Equipment Turnover
Flannery has invested £448 million in new equipment over the past four years, with £107m spent in the latest phase alone.
The focus has been on:
- Higher productivity machines.
- Improved fuel efficiency and emissions performance.
- Better operator comfort and digital features.
As a result, many still-valuable machines are now being released simply to keep the fleet young and competitive.
What Buyers Can Expect at the March 10 Auction
The auction will feature a large and diverse selection of late-model equipment from top global manufacturers, including:
- John Deere tractors.
- Excavators from Cat, Hitachi, Komatsu.
- Articulated dump trucks from Cat, Volvo, Hydrema.
- Dozers from Cat and Komatsu.
- Rollers from Cat, Bomag, Volvo.
- JCB 3CX backhoe loaders.
- 2019 Scania R580 trucks.
- Equipment from Bell and Wacker Neuson.
Much of the fleet is well-specified and maintained to the standards required for operated and self-drive hire.
Why This Sale Is Interesting for Tractor Buyers
Fleet renewal auctions are attractive because:
- Machines are sold due to age policy, not failure.
- Many units still have strong service life.
- Tractors often come with heavy-duty specifications.
- Pricing is driven by open market demand.
Euro Auctions will run the sale directly at Flannery’s site, allowing buyers to inspect machines before bidding.
