Decatur, Ill. | August 26, 2025 — Fendt has taken a major step forward in both high-horsepower tractors and planting technology with the debut of the 1000 Vario Gen4 and the all-new Optimum stack-fold planter at the 2025 Farm Progress Show.
1000 Vario Gen4: More Power, Smarter Integration
The new 1000 Gen4 Series builds on Fendt’s reputation for big iron designed for the heaviest farm tasks. Available in four models (1040, 1044, 1048, and 1052), the line ranges from 426 to 550 horsepower, powered by a 12.4L MAN engine featuring the Fendt iD™ low-speed concept for higher torque at reduced RPMs. The engine is supported by DynamicPerformance™, which automatically delivers additional horsepower when needed for demanding operations.
Operator experience has also received a notable upgrade, with improved interior comforts such as optional foot pegs, a built-in coolbox, and cabin dust extraction. The tractor carries a fresh exterior design that signals Fendt’s shift toward a more modern, commanding presence in the field.
A standout feature is the factory-ready option for PTx™ OutRun™ automation, enabling autonomous grain cart and tillage operation. This marks the first Fendt tractor engineered to support autonomous functions, positioning the Gen4 as one of the most future-ready high-horsepower tractors available.
Optimum Planter: Fendt’s First Stack-Fold System
For the first time, Fendt is entering the stack-fold planter market with the Optimum planter, a system that blends transport efficiency with precision planting technology.
Key features include:
- Four hinge points and wing downforce for consistent ground contact and depth control.
- An optional vertical contouring hitch for topography-driven toolbar adjustment.
- Flexibility between row-unit hoppers or a 55-bushel center fill option.
- Full integration of Precision Planting components, including 20|20®, vSet®, vDrive®, DeltaForce™, SpeedTube®, Reveal®, and FurrowForce®.
- Together, these systems give producers the ability to maintain high planting accuracy across variable terrain while boosting operational efficiency.
