The Fendt 832 Vario has established a new benchmark for fuel efficiency in the independent DLG PowerMix test, delivering what is currently the lowest average field fuel consumption ever recorded among tractors rated up to 350 hp. The result reinforces Fendt’s long standing reputation for combining high engine output with exceptionally low operating costs, an increasingly important factor as fuel prices and total ownership costs remain under pressure.
The achievement is particularly significant because the DLG PowerMix program is widely regarded as one of the industry’s most realistic methods for evaluating tractor efficiency under practical working conditions rather than laboratory scenarios.
Record DLG PowerMix results
According to the latest DLG measurements, the Fendt 832 Vario recorded an average field consumption of 235 g/kWh of diesel together with 29 g/kWh of AdBlue, setting a new benchmark within its power category.
Transport performance was equally impressive. During road transport testing at speeds up to 60 km/h, the tractor achieved 331 g/kWh of diesel and 36 g/kWh of AdBlue, making it one of the most efficient high horsepower tractors tested in this operating segment.
The results also demonstrate that high engine output no longer has to come at the expense of fuel economy. Instead, modern drivetrain optimization can significantly reduce operating costs across a wide variety of agricultural applications.
Why DLG PowerMix matters
Unlike traditional OECD tractor testing, which primarily evaluates performance under controlled stationary conditions, the DLG PowerMix protocol was developed to simulate real agricultural workloads.
