Dutch Tractor Sales 2026

Dutch Tractor Sales Rise Slightly in Early 2026 Despite Softer April

The Dutch tractor market posted modest growth during the first four months of 2026, according to the latest figures released by the Dutch agricultural industry association Fedecom.

A total of 664 new tractors were registered between January and April 2026, compared with 643 units during the same period in 2025. That represents an increase of 21 tractors, or approximately 3.3% year over year.

However, April itself was weaker than the previous year. Dealers registered 181 tractors during the month, down from 206 units in April 2025. The comparison is even more striking against April 2024, when registrations reached 348 tractors, highlighting how monthly demand can fluctuate significantly depending on purchasing cycles and market conditions.

Period 2026 2025 Change
January to April 664 643 +21 (+3.3%)
April only 181 206 -25 (-12.1%)

Brand Rankings Remain Stable

Because of Dutch competition regulations, brand specific sales figures are published with a one year delay. The latest available rankings therefore reflect registrations through April 2025.

The market leaders are:

Brand Tractors Sold
Fendt 215
John Deere 105
Massey Ferguson 78
New Holland 73
Deutz-Fahr 64

Fendt maintained a clear lead over the market, selling more than twice as many tractors as its closest competitor during the reported period.

Compact Tractor Demand Accelerates

One of the strongest trends continues to be the rapid growth of compact tractors.

By the end of April, registrations reached 337 compact tractors, compared with just 190 units during the same period a year earlier. That represents growth of nearly 77%, making compact equipment one of the fastest expanding segments in the Dutch machinery market.

Compact Tractor Brand Units Sold
Iseki 128
Kioti 21
Kubota 18

Market Analysis

The latest figures suggest that the Dutch tractor market remains resilient despite softer monthly performance in April. A modest increase in total registrations indicates that investment activity among professional farms has not slowed dramatically, even as higher financing costs and cautious machinery spending continue across much of Europe.

The sharp expansion in compact tractor sales is particularly noteworthy. Growth in this segment is being supported not only by agricultural customers, but also by municipalities, contractors, horticultural businesses, and property maintenance companies that increasingly require versatile machines for year round operations. If this trend continues, compact tractors are likely to account for an increasingly important share of the overall Dutch machinery market over the next several years.
