DEUTZ-FAHR has introduced the new 6145C, extending its 6C Series with a more powerful four-cylinder tractor designed for mixed farming, demanding implement applications, and transportation. The new model delivers 146 horsepower, increasing to 156 horsepower with Power Boost, while introducing a standard suspended front axle, two transmission options, and an expanded hydraulic configuration.
The 6145C becomes the fourth model in the 6C lineup, joining the 6115C, 6125C, and 6135C. Its introduction gives farmers access to additional power and heavier implement-handling capabilities without moving to a larger tractor series.
146 HP Engine With 586 Nm of Torque
The DEUTZ-FAHR 6145C produces 146 hp under normal operating conditions, with maximum output increasing to 156 hp when Power Boost is activated. Maximum engine torque reaches 586 Nm, providing the pulling capacity needed for applications involving variable engine loads.
The engine incorporates an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger, identified as e-VGT Turbo Intercooler technology. By adjusting turbine geometry according to engine operating conditions, the system helps maintain boost pressure and improve engine response across different speed and load ranges.
Fuel delivery is handled by a Common Rail injection system operating at pressures up to 2,000 bar.
According to DEUTZ-FAHR’s technical information, Power Boost is automatically activated when the PTO is engaged or when travel speed exceeds 15 km/h (9.3 mph). This allows additional engine output to become available during PTO-intensive work and transportation.
The combination of electronically managed turbocharging and high-pressure injection is particularly relevant for operations involving changing loads, such as baling, mowing, and cultivation. Maintaining usable torque during these operations can reduce the need for frequent transmission adjustments.
RVshift and TTV Transmission Options
DEUTZ-FAHR offers the 6145C with two transmission configurations, allowing buyers to select the operating characteristics most suitable for their applications.
The RVshift transmission features 20 forward and 16 reverse ratios, together with a creeper function for applications requiring very low ground speeds. Its stepped gear arrangement provides a conventional transmission structure combined with simplified electronic operation.
The alternative TTV continuously variable transmission allows operators to adjust travel speed without conventional stepped gear changes. This configuration is particularly useful when maintaining precise working speeds under changing engine loads.
Both transmissions are capable of reaching a maximum travel speed of 50 km/h (31 mph) in ECO configuration.
At transport speeds, ECO operation allows the engine to run at reduced rpm, potentially lowering fuel consumption and cab noise during road travel.
The availability of both transmissions is an important part of the 6145C’s positioning. The RVshift configuration provides an option for operators who prefer defined gear ratios, while the TTV transmission offers continuously adjustable speeds for operations where precise ground-speed management is important.
Standard Suspended Front Axle
One of the most significant mechanical upgrades is the inclusion of a suspended front axle as standard equipment.
The axle incorporates front brakes and a fully locking differential, combining improved traction management with additional stability during transportation and implement operation.
The suspended design helps isolate the tractor chassis from irregular ground surfaces, reducing the transmission of shocks to the operator and improving tire contact over uneven terrain.
DEUTZ-FAHR has also increased the front axle’s load-handling capabilities. Combined with the heavy-duty rear axle, the 6145C supports a maximum permissible vehicle weight of 10,500 kg (23,149 lb).
That figure is particularly relevant for tractors operating with heavy mounted implements, front loaders, or combined front and rear equipment.
The new axle also contributes to the tractor’s ability to operate at higher transport speeds while maintaining operator comfort.
7,100 kg Rear Lift and 120 L/min Hydraulics
The 6145C features an electronically controlled rear three-point hitch with a maximum lifting capacity of 7,100 kg (15,653 lb).
The hydraulic system can be specified with a Load Sensing pump delivering up to 120 liters per minute, approximately 31.7 US gallons per minute.
Additional hydraulic equipment:
- Up to five electronically controlled rear remote valves.
- Power Beyond connections for implements requiring continuous hydraulic flow.
- An optional front three-point hitch with 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) lifting capacity.
- An optional front PTO.
- Front loader preparation through the factory Ready Kit.
The rear PTO supports up to three selectable operating speeds and includes an automatic PTO management function. A ground-speed PTO configuration is also available.
These specifications make the tractor suitable for operating modern agricultural implements with substantial hydraulic requirements, including certain seed drills, balers, mower combinations, and other hydraulically driven equipment.
The Power Beyond option is particularly important when connecting implements equipped with their own hydraulic control systems.
TopVisionPro Cab and iMonitor Gen4
DEUTZ-FAHR equips the new tractor with the TopVisionPro cab, available with either mechanical or pneumatic suspension.
The operator environment incorporates a multifunction armrest that centralizes frequently used machine controls, reducing the need to operate separate switches throughout the cab.
A new 10-inch iMonitor Gen4 display provides access to tractor functions and digital farming applications.
The terminal integrates automatic guidance and ISOBUS functionality, supporting the operation of compatible agricultural implements through a common interface.
Its customizable layout allows operators to organize information according to the task being performed.
Connectivity is supported through the MyDEUTZ-FAHR application, extending access to machine-related information and digital services.
For farms already using precision agriculture equipment, the integrated terminal and ISOBUS capabilities can reduce dependence on additional displays, depending on the implement configuration and activated functions.
EasySteer and 55-Degree Steering Angle
The 6145C introduces Performance Steering with EasySteer, which allows operators to select between four steering response levels.
The system adjusts the relationship between steering wheel movement and front wheel movement, making it possible to reduce the number of steering wheel rotations required during maneuvering.
This feature is particularly useful during frequent headland turns, front loader operations, and work in confined farmyards.
The front axle also provides a maximum steering angle of 55 degrees.
Together, the adjustable steering ratio and steering geometry are intended to make the tractor easier to maneuver despite its increased load-handling capability.
For nighttime operations, the machine can be equipped with up to 18 LED work lights, providing additional illumination around the tractor and its implements.
DEUTZ-FAHR also offers the 6145C in special Warrior editions with distinctive exterior color configurations.
Where the 6145C Fits in the 6C Series
The new 6145C extends the 6C range into a higher power category while retaining the general characteristics of a four-cylinder utility tractor.
Its combination of 156 hp maximum output, 120 L/min hydraulic capacity, and a 7,100 kg rear hitch positions it for farms that regularly switch between field operations, transportation, and loader work.
The availability of the RVshift and TTV transmissions also allows the same basic tractor platform to serve different operating requirements.
From a technical perspective, the standard front axle suspension is an important distinction. Suspension systems are particularly beneficial on tractors that divide their operating hours between fieldwork and road transportation, where chassis movement and operator fatigue can become significant considerations.
However, maximum engine power, hydraulic output, and lifting capacity describe different operating characteristics. Actual implement compatibility will also depend on available PTO power, hydraulic connections, implement weight distribution, and the tractor’s permissible axle loads.
The 6145C therefore expands the available specifications within the 6C Series without requiring every buyer to adopt the same transmission or hydraulic configuration.
