At Agritechnica 2025, held November 9–15 in Hannover, Germany, Cummins will debut its F4.5 structural engine specifically tailored for agricultural tractors, alongside its established B6.7 and newer X15 Off-Highway engines.
Structural integration, compact architecture, and emission flexibility
The F4.5 is a true “structural” engine: its cylinder block, oil pan (cast iron), and gear housing are all designed to carry load, allowing the engine to become part of the tractor’s structural frame and reducing redundant mass. The engine is optimized for minimal weight while maintaining mechanical strength and drivetrain durability.
Its nominal output is 130 to 160 hp (97 to 119 kW), with a fixed peak torque of 476 lb-ft (≈ 645 N·m). The engine is certified to meet Tier 4 Final / Stage V / EPA Tier 4F emission standards.
Cummins emphasizes flexibility in after-treatment layout: the Flex Module system offers DOC + DPF modules that can be mounted under the hood or above the engine, paired with a low-profile SCR system that can be oriented vertically to limit overall package height. This system supports an EGR-free architecture. Cummins also mentions improved power and torque (33 % more power, 31 % more torque compared with the prior generation) thanks to its Performance Series enhancements.
The electronic controls of the F4.5 are tuned for tractor duty cycles, delivering power bulge and torque backup to match variable loads such as plowing, loader work, or trailer pulling.

Complementary engines at display: B6.7 and Next Gen X15 Off-Highway
Cummins will also showcase its B6.7 engine, one of the company’s highest-volume platforms, now deployed in machines such as Claas Evion combines and Versatile tractors.
The Next Gen X15 Off-Highway engine, part of Cummins’ HELM (Higher Efficiency, Lower Emissions, Multiple Fuels) strategy, supports diesel, hydrogen, and biofuels (e.g. HVO). With ratings up to approximately 700 hp (522 kW) and torque exceeding 3,200 Nm, it is intended for demanding off-highway equipment, offering fuel efficiency, integration ease, and digital connectivity.
At Agritechnica, attendees can also view the Meritor MOX E8 axle — a modular heavy-duty axle system built for tractors, harvesters, and balers with flexible gearing, brake type, and wheel-end configurations.
