First unveiled at Agritechnica 2025, the new model is designed for livestock farms, mixed operations, and agricultural businesses seeking lower operating costs, quieter working conditions, and greater energy independence.

Rather than simply replacing a diesel engine with batteries, CLAAS has developed an electric loader around a dedicated architecture that combines dual electric motors, modular battery technology, intelligent energy management, and advanced loading automation. The result is a machine intended to deliver diesel-like productivity while eliminating local emissions during daily farm work.

Modular battery system

At the core of the TORION 537e SINUS is a 322 V lithium ion battery platform available in two configurations.

The standard battery provides 32.2 kWh of usable capacity, while an optional dual module configuration doubles storage to 64.4 kWh. According to CLAAS, the larger battery can deliver up to 16 hours of operating time under suitable working conditions, making the loader capable of handling full working shifts without frequent charging.

The battery management system continuously monitors temperature and operating conditions to maintain performance throughout the year, including cold weather operation.

Another practical advantage is the integrated onboard charger. Unlike many electric construction machines that require external charging hardware, the TORION 537e SINUS can be connected directly to standard AC power commonly available on farms.

For faster turnaround, the loader also supports DC fast charging at approximately 40 to 45 kW. When battery capacity drops to 20%, charging back to 80% requires roughly 50 minutes.

Dual electric drive

Instead of relying on a single traction motor, CLAAS separates propulsion and hydraulics.

A dedicated 30 kW electric motor powers the drivetrain, while an independent 15 kW motor operates the hydraulic system. This layout allows both systems to work simultaneously without sacrificing travel performance during demanding loading cycles.

The electric drivetrain also incorporates regenerative braking, recovering energy whenever the machine slows down or travels downhill. That recovered electricity is returned to the battery, extending operating time while reducing overall energy consumption.

The loader reaches a transport speed of up to 30 km/h while delivering the instant torque response expected from electric powertrains.

Although electrically powered, the TORION 537e SINUS maintains performance figures expected from conventional farm wheel loaders.

SINUS steering system

Integrated sensors also record workload, payload information, and battery status, creating useful operational data for fleet management and productivity analysis.

Quiet operation for livestock farms

Perhaps the biggest practical advantage of the electric drivetrain is not simply lower fuel costs.

Without engine noise or exhaust emissions, the loader becomes particularly attractive for dairy farms, livestock operations, and enclosed agricultural buildings where operator comfort and animal welfare matter.

Cab noise is rated at only 65 dB, creating a substantially quieter workplace than a comparable diesel machine. Large glass areas improve visibility, while the spacious cab includes an adjustable touchscreen display that provides real time machine and battery information.

Warranty and digital connectivity

CLAAS backs the high voltage battery with its MAXI CARE Focus program, providing five years or 6,000 operating hours of coverage while guaranteeing at least 80% remaining battery capacity.

Customers requiring longer protection can choose extended MAXI CARE Flex or Protect coverage for up to eight years or 8,000 operating hours.

Digital fleet management is handled through CLAAS connect, giving owners access to machine location, operating data, maintenance history, and digital service documentation from a single online platform.

The TORION 537e SINUS demonstrates that electric farm machinery is beginning to move beyond niche applications. Instead of chasing maximum horsepower, CLAAS has focused on one of agriculture’s most predictable daily tasks: repetitive loading work with frequent starts, stops, and relatively short travel distances.

Farms already generating electricity through rooftop solar installations can reduce fuel purchases while operating a quieter machine that is better suited for enclosed livestock facilities.
