Borrisoleigh Tractor Run 2026

Borrisoleigh Tractor Run 2026 to Support Three Community Causes in Tipperary

The sixth annual Borrisoleigh Tractor Run will return to County Tipperary on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with all proceeds going to three local and national community initiatives.

Community Focus Drives Borrisoleigh Tractor Run

Organizers say the event was created to bring people together around a shared love of machinery, countryside and community spirit. What began as a local gathering has grown into one of the most anticipated tractor runs in north Tipperary.

The organizing committee says the goal has always been simple: create a relaxed, welcoming event where people can enjoy a chat, a cup of tea and the sight of tractors, trucks, vintage cars and other vehicles gathering in one place.

Over the years, the tractor run has raised funds for schools, overseas aid projects and cancer support charities. In 2025 alone, the event raised €8,600 for the Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre in Thurles.

Dillon Quirke Foundation Named as First Beneficiary

One of this year’s three beneficiaries is the Dillon Quirke Foundation, which provides free cardiac screening for young athletes across Ireland.

Organizers say the foundation’s work is already saving lives by identifying heart conditions before tragedy strikes. Supporting this cause is seen as a way to protect young people in sports and spare families from preventable loss.

Embrace Farm to Receive Support From Tractor Run

The second beneficiary is Embrace Farm, a non profit organization that supports farming families affected by serious injury or sudden death.

Because most participants come from agricultural backgrounds, organizers say this charity closely reflects the realities of rural life and the risks farmers face every day.

Local GAA Car Park Upgrade Also Backed

The third beneficiary is the Borrisoleigh GAA car park redevelopment fund.

The local GAA grounds serve as a major hub for the community, with multiple pitches, training areas, gym facilities and a walking and running track. The site is also the starting point for the annual tractor run.

The existing car park now needs repair and modernization, and part of this year’s fundraising will go toward upgrading that facility.

Scenic 26 Kilometer Route Through North Tipperary

This year’s tractor run will cover more than 26 kilometers of countryside. The route begins in Borrisoleigh and passes through Templederry, Upperchurch and Drom before returning to the starting point.

Organizers say the route was chosen to highlight some of the most scenic parts of north Tipperary and give spectators and drivers alike a memorable experience.

Registration, Start Time and Activities

Registration opens at 11:00 am, with the run starting at 12:30 pm. Early arrival is recommended. Tea and light refreshments will be available.

A raffle for a trailer load of timber will also take place, giving visitors another way to support the causes.

Everyone is welcome, whether driving in the run or simply coming along to watch and enjoy the atmosphere.
