AgXeed has officially begun customer deliveries of its new T2 7 SERIES autonomous AgBot, with the first production machines already arriving in the Netherlands and Bulgaria. The milestone marks the transition of the company’s latest autonomous platform from development and testing into commercial field operations, while production continues at AgXeed’s facility in Grubbenvorst.
The launch comes as autonomous machinery manufacturers race to address two of agriculture’s biggest challenges: labor shortages and soil compaction. With 230 horsepower, autonomous operation, and an ultra low ground pressure design, the T2 7 SERIES is aimed directly at large scale arable farms and contractors seeking higher productivity with fewer operators.
230 HP Diesel Electric Powertrain
The T2 7 SERIES is powered by a 230 hp diesel electric drivetrain designed to combine the efficiency of electric drive systems with the endurance required for long working days in the field.
AgXeed says the machine offers a rear lift capacity of up to 9 tonnes and hydraulic flow rates reaching 170 l/min, allowing it to operate a wide range of cultivation, seeding, and tillage equipment. These figures place the T2 among the most capable autonomous field machines currently entering commercial production.
Unlike many early autonomous agricultural platforms that focused on smaller specialty applications, the T2 is built to handle heavy field work typically reserved for conventional high horsepower tractors.
Under 30 kPa Ground Pressure
One of the machine’s defining features is its tracked undercarriage.
Despite delivering 230 horsepower, the T2 maintains ground pressure below 30 kPa, significantly reducing soil compaction compared with many conventional tractors operating in the same power class.
Track width can be adjusted from 1.5 meters to 3.2 meters, enabling operators to optimize the machine for different crop systems, row spacings, and field conditions.
As soil preservation becomes an increasingly important factor in modern farming, low ground pressure designs are attracting growing interest from farmers looking to maintain yields while minimizing long term soil damage.
TraXwise Enables Fully Autonomous Operation
The T2 7 SERIES operates through AgXeed’s TraXwise software platform, which allows field tasks to be planned, executed, and monitored remotely.
Operators can create work plans in advance and supervise operations without remaining in the cab, turning activities such as cultivation and seeding into largely hands free processes.
The system also provides continuous data collection and machine monitoring, supporting the industry’s broader shift toward data driven farm management.
Rather than positioning autonomy as a standalone feature, AgXeed is increasingly presenting TraXwise as the central operating system connecting machines, implements, and agronomic workflows.
Lidar and Camera Safety Systems
Autonomous operation is supported by a comprehensive sensor package that includes lidar detection technology, front and rear cameras, integrated safety mechanisms, and standardized implement connectivity.
The machine also supports ISOBUS and TIM functionality, helping ensure compatibility with modern implements and enabling greater levels of automation between tractor and equipment.
This combination of sensors and control systems is designed to provide obstacle detection, operational awareness, and safe execution of autonomous tasks under varying field conditions.
Commercial Scale Autonomy Arrives
What makes the T2 7 SERIES particularly interesting is that it targets mainstream field operations rather than niche applications. The combination of 230 horsepower, substantial lifting capacity, low ground pressure, and autonomous operation puts it much closer to the working profile of a traditional field tractor than many autonomous machines currently on the market.
The agricultural industry has seen numerous autonomous concepts over the past decade, but relatively few have reached serial production and customer deployment. The fact that AgXeed is now shipping machines to customers across Europe suggests the sector is moving beyond demonstration projects and toward practical adoption.
If reliability and operating economics meet expectations, the T2 7 SERIES could become one of the strongest indicators yet that autonomous tractors are beginning to establish a meaningful role in commercial farming.
