The Valtra T Series includes versatile mid-range tractors. In 2015, a Valtra T234 was chosen for a record attempt on ice in Finland. Equipped with Nokian Hakkapeliitta TRI winter tires, the tractor was driven by four-time World Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen.
The machine reached 81 mph on a snow-covered track, earning a Guinness World Record as the fastest tractor on ice. Unlike the JCB record, the Valtra was close to a standard production machine, with modifications limited mainly to tires.

Fendt 1000 Vario. High-Speed Transport Capability
The Fendt 1000 Vario is one of the largest tractors in regular production. Powered by a MAN six-cylinder engine with outputs from 396 to 517 horsepower, it is designed for heavy draft work.
Despite its size, the Fendt 1000 is capable of 37 mph on roads, thanks to its continuously variable VarioDrive transmission. In practice, operators often run at lower speeds in the field—5 to 12 km/h for tillage, seeding, or spraying.
The ability to transport at 37 mph makes the 1000 Vario valuable in regions where farms are spread out and road travel efficiency matters as much as in-field pulling power.

Case IH Magnum Rowtrac. Power with Tracks
The Case IH Magnum Rowtrac combines wheels in the front with tracks in the rear. This hybrid system is designed to reduce soil compaction while maintaining maneuverability.
Transport speed is lower than that of the Fendt or JCB, topping out around 25 mph depending on configuration. Field speeds are comparable to other high-horsepower tractors, usually limited by the implement rather than the tractor itself.
The Rowtrac shows how modern tractors balance traction, flotation, and speed. While not built for record attempts, it reflects real-world conditions where road travel and soil protection must both be considered.
